1 Welcome

Hi! So you've downloaded this UI because you don't want the hassle of creating your own - downloading all those addons, configuring them all to your liking and most importantly: making it look good but still function correctly. It's all a bit of a faff. You may have a new installation of World of Warcraft or just fancy a change: but no matter, these installation instructions are geared towards everybody. If you're wondering how you can customise it even further to your specific class needs, scroll down to section 3 How do I customise it? or if you're wanting to know how to install it for the first time, keep reading. The 4 FAQ is at the bottom for any tricky questions you might have.

2 Important information for Vista users.

For some reason, unzipping this UI package with the built-in Vista unzip client doesn't work. It causes duplicates and makes it impossible to install. There is nothing else I can do on my end, so you are going to have to use a third party client, such as WinZip, to open this .zip file.

VISTA USERS: Unzip with a third party client.

3 What do I do with all these files?

The following directory structure should be apparent to you when you unzip interface.zip:

Fonts
Interface
-- Addons

--- A folder for each addon in the UI
WTF
Config.wtf
-- Account
--- YOURACCOUNTNAME *
---- YOURSERVERNAME *
---- SavedVariables
----- YOURCHARACTERNAME *
----- SavedVariables

To copy over the relevent files:

1. Find your World of Warcraft installation folder, usually C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft (Windows) or ~/Applications/World of Warcraft (Mac).

2. Backup your old Interface and WTF folders - this allows you to revert back to your previous interface at any time. Just copy and paste them, or drag them to your desktop. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DO THIS.

3. Find where you unzipped Beska UI, and drag and drop the WTF, Interface and Fonts folders into your World of Warcraft directory.

To apply the default Beska UI configuration:

4. Navigate to your WTF folder, and in your Account folder find and rename YOURACCOUNTNAME, YOUR SERVER NAME and YOURCHARACTERNAME folders (indicated with an atarisk on the directory structure above). This is extremely important. Please fill them in using capital case.

Congratulations! Now the interface is installed and should look relatively like the screenshots posted on the website.

Please follow the following steps to optimize the interface:

5. Open World of Warcraft and log in. It is possible that your video, interface and sound settings have been reset - along with your keybindings. Open the Video options (by pressing Esc) and set the resolution to 1680x1050: if your computer cannot handle this resolution, then you will be required to tweak the UI by hand to make it look correct.

6. Time to add those FuBars to Dash! They're not meant to be in the middle of the screen like that, but Dash (an addon similar to Mac OS X's Dashboard) doesn't carry it's options over very well. Go to your keybindings and bind a key to 'Dash' (can also be shown by moving your mouse to the top right corner of the screen). Then, mouse over the 2 FuBars and type /dash addmouse. Whenever you want access to FuBar, just press your Dash hotkey. Hidde but still avaliable, nice!

7. Type /reloadui. Your interface should look similar to the screenshots on the website however some problems may occur whn transferring over Saved Variables: mainly that Omen and Recount will reposition themselves to the centre of the screen. Read more about this in the FAQ.

8. Repeat steps 5-6 for any alternative characters that you would like to use the inteface on.

9. READ THE FAQ.

4 How do I customise it?

It's impossible to document all avaliable addons and every way it is possible to customise them, however the main addons, their configuration commands are listed here:

Addon
How do I customise it?
Unitframes: PitBull

Type /rock and then find "PitBull" on the list. Most configuration options are avaliable here. Commonly requested customisations:
1. To move PitBull, find "Configuration Mode" and turn it to "Solo".
2. To enable showing enemy buffs/debuffs, find "Disabled Modules" and check "Aura" to turn it back on.

SLDataText This is the addon that provides the Clock/Tracking text on and near the minimap. To customise it, type /SLDataText and all avalaible options are shown to you.
Bars: Bartender3 To customise it, type /rock and then find "Bartender3" on the list. By default, the 9th bar is set to paging with the 'ctrl' modifier.
eePanels All panels are named intelligently so it's easy to find what each is parented to. To configure, type /rock and find "eePanels" on the panel to the right.
Demon Demon provides the enemy debuff tracker that pops up in parties/raids. To customise what debuffs show on it (for example, changing it to relevent support debuffs that help your class would be a good idea) type /rock and then find "Demon" on the list.

Question
SEND HELP (Answer)
Why is my computer talking to me?

The addon shouting "Aggro!" at you every few minutes in a lovely female voice is called BanzaiAlert and tells you when a hostile mob or player targets you (for example, you pull aggro). Disable it and the voice will be gone.

What are the little icons in the middle of my screen? They are called Afflicted and it's the new version of MagicTrack - an arena/pvp addon that tracks enemy buffs and cooldowns on significant spells - for example BoP, Vanish, Counterspell, etc.
Why can't I see my buffs? If you've installed on a resolution that's not recommended, Buffalo may have gone off the upper-right side of the screen. To fix, decrease your UI scale to the smallest and it should pop back on.
Why can't I see enemy buffs/debuffs on PitBull? I've disabled the Aura module because it doesn't fit in with my UI. However, to turn it on open PitBull configuration by typing /rock and finding 'PitBull' on the list, go to the 'Disabled Modules' list and check 'Auras'. Then position them in an attractive place!
Why am I really laggy? You play on a Mac! Heh heh no I jest. I have an experimental console command enabled that on some dual core systems increase FPS, but on others it could cause servere mouse/UI lag. To disable, type: /console GLFaster 0 or to renable, type /console GLFaster 2 ("1" is the unexperimental version). If you're not on a Mac - I have no idea.
Where are my keybindings gone? They reset when you installed my UI. You will need to rebind all your buttons through the standard WoW interface using the new Bartender3 bars. For any spells/abilities that you cannot fit onto the action bars - you can still bind a key to them by using Spellbinder - type /spellbinder and the interface will guide you through.
How do I get rid of the tooltips that keep popping up? I've made the Tooltips follow the mouse because I believe it's easier to get information that way. If you'd prefer them in a fixed location on the screen, type /cowtip and find the relevant option.
